Measurements of weight and permeability

The measurements are made at various spots in the bag (from the top to the bottom) on discs measuring 1 sq. dm.

We measure the basis weight (in g/sq. m) and the permeability (in L/sq. dm/min at 200 Pa) in accordance with the DIN standards (standards DIN 53854 and DIN 53887 respectively):

• As it stands on receipt.
• After cleaning, simulation of cleaning by shaking on a grid to simulate flapping of the felt during pulses.
• After suction cleaning of the felt.

This series of measurements is used to estimate the level of clogging of the filtration media and the bag's regeneration levels during cleaning sequences in the filter.

These characteristics have a direct influence on head loss in the installation.
